I love love love to layer. The more the better I always say, so I’m not above piling on scarves upon sweaters upon jackets just to keep warm – or look cute 😊
So today’s post is about a simple layering technique that’s great for transitioning from cold/rainy weather to hotter weather, or vice versa depending on what part of the world you’re living in.
Kenya is smack on the equator, and as such we don’t have extreme weather patterns. That’s why this outfit is part of my back to school lookbook – I slapped it on one day when I had to spend the day in school, and leave after 9pm when my last class ended. So it’s great for transitioning from sunny weather to chilly evenings and the boots give it a chic air that I loove.
This baggy shirtdress is a an oldie but goldie in my closet, usually paired with tights to make up for the rise on the sides. I’m feeling a lot more adventurous these days so I decided to only pair it with my leather/suede boots and hope the wind doesn’t blow where it shouldn’t 😊
The sweater is an even shorter dress that I thrifted recently and haven’t been able to wear without a bottom until now. That’s why I love this outfit, pairing two rather short items in a way that let’s hem complement each other and make me look somewhat conservative 😉😉
The oversized bag seemed like the best compliment to the look 😊 Let me know in the comments below if you prefer the layered look or if you’re more the easy breezy shirt type. Thanks for dropping by! 😘😙
