Today’s post is about a restaurant with the best view this side of Africa.
The restaurant is found in Garoda Resort, which is the only hotel we visited while in Watamu. It’s soo huge, with hotel rooms as well as apartments within, and I really really want to go back there. So much that it’s sold me on living at the coast, so Watamu here I come 😊
We had lunch before I went on my shooting spree, and it was such a good meal that I need to talk about it here.
This side of the Kenyan coast (Malindi, Watamu) is said to be a mini Italian town because most of the population there is a Italian. So much so that the workers there and their children are fluent in it. So you can imagine how good a pizza made specifically for Italians is.
So let’s talk about the pizza. Just remembering it is making me drool lol. It was really good, thick crusted like I like it, with chicken and fries coated in just the right amount of cheese.
If you’ve read my one and only recipe here (more coming soon, I promise! 😊) you’ll know that I prefer my pizzas with loots of stuff. Onions, green pepper, garlic, the works. But I enjoyed the simplicity of this one, and the crust was large enough to stuff us and cooked to perfection that I couldn’t complain if I tried.
The prices were very pocket friendly, not the $70 I hear can be spent on one meal in some parts of Watamu – sidenote: that’s a hella lot of money to spend on food here) And the views there 😮😮 Amazing doesn’t even come close. They literally built the restaurant in two parts, one closer to the actual hotel rooms for guests and one overlooking this breathtaking place.
The pictures don’t do it justice, but I have a few on location shoots that I hope bring out the beauty a bit more. As always, thanks for dropping by 😊 Have a great week ahead!
